Happy New Year everyone!! ❤

I hope you all have a wonderful year, filled with books, friends and everything/everyone else that you love!

I wasn’t actually tagged by anyone do to this, but I have been doing this tag for the past 2 years so I decided to continue with it the tradition and do it this year as well. These tags are just a lot of fun and I enjoy doing them! Also if you want to check out the ones from the previous two years you can check them out: the 2015/16 edition and 2016/17 edition.

  • Link to the person who tagged you.
  • Link to the creator of the tag – Rae @Bookmark Chronicles
  • Share the tag image (Sorry, I don’t do that.)
  • Answer the questions below.
  • Tag friends (or not if you don’t feel like it)

Best book and/or series that you’ve read in 2016?

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year?

Shirley Jackson

I have read a short story collection by her last year and I enjoyed it a lot. While it wasn’t one of my all time favourite books I still enjoyed it. (Obviously some stories more than others, but that is usual with these collections.) Plus the atmosphere and unease that she managed to create within each story was amazing. I definitely want to pick up some of her books in the future, they seem like stories that I would greatly enjoy.

Cindy Pon, Renee Ahdieh and Adam Silvera

I have recently read their short stories in the anthology Because You Love To Hate Me and I adored them. Their stories were definitely my favourite ones (along with Victoria Schwab’s one) and they all made me want to pick up their books as well. I really hope that I will be able to get my hands on their books this year. I have a feeling that I’m going to love their books a lot! (You can check out my review of it here.)

Most anticipated book turned movie/tv show?

Like last year, I don’t have one. I’m actually not even sure which movies or tv shows are coming out this year (them being book adaptation or not). I’m just not one to anticipate these kinds of things, rather when they come out and I hear other peoples thoughts on them I decide whether I want to watch them or not.

Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight (if there is one).

The first one that came to my mind was Magnus Bane. Must be because I just recently finished reading The Bane Chronicles and he is one of my all time favourite characters.

What’s on your TBR for 2018? (Top 5 will suffice if it’s an extremely long list!)

Well, seeing that I never actually read all the books that I list here, take this TBR rather tentatively. Though that might have to do with the fact that 2017 wasn’t the best reading year for me…Anyway, here are some books that I want to read this year (that I already own that is).

How many books do you hope to read in 2018?

I hope to read more than I did in 2017. As I have already mentioned in this tag, this past year I haven’t been reading as much as I would have like. I was just in a slump that lasted nearly all year. (It seriously sucked!) So I’m hoping to read more than 30 books this year and hopefully I will succeed with that.

Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge or any others?

The only reading challenge that I’m participating in is the Goodreads Reading Challenge. I’m actually not the biggest fan of doing many challenges at the same time – it just feels like I’m forcing myself to read very specific books. And if you know me at all, you know that I’m rubbish at that – so I’m not even going to try. The Goodreads Reading Challenge is good enough for me. (And I’m setting the goal at 30 books.)

Any New Year’s Resolutions? (Bookish, blogging, and otherwise)

I don’t do New Year’s resolutions, because I know that I won’t stick to them. And I would only be disappointed in myself when I eventually fail to uphold them. So what is the point of making any?

What are some of the books you’re most exited to read this year? Will you be participating in any reading challenges? Let me know in the comments! 😀

Thank you very much for reading and I hope that you have a wonderful day!

    1. The first two books in The Inheritance Cycle were amazing, I seriously adored them and I can’t wait to get around to the third book! 🙂 Warcross sounds fascinating and like a book I would enjoy as well, I can’t wait to get around to it. I hope you enjoy all of those books, when you get around to them! 😀

  1. Ah, I’m so glad you enjoyed ADSOM! I love that series, and I still need to read A Conjuring of Light, but I’m really hoping to finish it up this year! I’ve loved Adam Silvera for a while now, but I read Want by Cindy Pon earlier this year, and I would love to read more of her books!

Warcross was so good, so I hope you enjoy it! I need to read more of Rick Riordan’s books; I’m so behind on all his series. 🙈 And I’ve been failing on reading all the Cassandra Clare side stories; I’m a mess. 😂

    1. ADSOM was wonderful and I have heard that the books only get better! I seriously can’t wait to continue with the series! 😀 I definitely need to pick up Adam Silvera’s books, they seem amazing (and heartbreaking). I have heard amazing things about Want, I definitely need to get my hands on it soon.
I already own Warcross and I plan on reading it soon! It sounds like a book that I would love, so I have high hopes. I have two Rick Riordan series that I need to start/read and I haven’t even finished The Mortal Instruments yet (I have only read the first two books), so I’m quite the mess as well! 😂
