It’s been a while since I have written anything for my blog and I’m honestly struggling quite a bit right now. Guess not blogging for a month does have it’s consequences. And YES, I HAVE BEEN GONE ALL OF MARCH! I didn’t plan on that happening at all. Do you even remember me?!
Okay, so why was I gone? I actually planned on taking a break for a week or so, because I was busy with university stuff. Then I never felt like blogging and I fell behind on comments and posts and everything else
(I haven’t even started catching up, sigh). I just didn’t feel like blogging and I didn’t feel like forcing myself to do it. Before I knew it the whole month had gone by and I had posted only one thing.
It was really great taking a break, but I have MISSED TALKING TO ALL OF YOU!
I’m really happy to be back and I can’t wait to start writing once more!
(Even though I’m no longer used to it.) My March was all right, nothing special happened but I got some important things done as well. My parents visited me as well and I got to spend a whole day with them, which was simply wonderful!
Now that I’m back to blogging I plan on catching up to comments and posts. SUPER SORRY that I haven’t been doing anything in that department. I do have many posts that I missed while I was away, so I won’t be able to read and comment on all of them – sorry about that, but I’ll try my best! That’s all, now lets get into the books that I read in March!
I finished 1 book in March and 20 volumes of a manga. And I’m also in the middle of 4 other books, but I have yet to finish them. I’m rather happy with how much I managed to read, since I was busy and didn’t have much time to read. I also fell in the hole of fanfiction and ended up reading a ton of them. They are seriously addicting and I enjoy reading them a lot!
(Too bad that they don’t count as proper books.) Anyway, lets talk about the actual books that I read in March.
The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells
3 out of 5 stars
This was my first ever H.G. Wells book! Though I have always been interested in his works, I never actually got the chance to pick them up
(until now that is).
I had already some previous knowledge of The Island of Doctor Moreau, through other media. I think it would have been weirder if I didn’t know anything about it, since it’s such a famous work. I found this book very interesting with intriguing concepts. Though I didn’t love it I certainly enjoyed it. Some scenes were harder to get through than others, mostly because of the animal cruelty and abuse.
(The gore didn’t bother me, as it usually doesn’t either.)
Overall, The Island of Doctor Moreau was an interesting read and I’m glad that I decided to give it a chance. I’m exited to read more works by H.G. Wells in the future.
As I already mentioned, I read 20 volumes of a manga. More specifically 20 volumes of Black Cat. I simply adore that manga
(the anime adaptation wasn’t the best) and I consider it one of my all time favourites. I have reread it many times since I discovered it years ago. I just adore everything about it!! The main character, Train Heartent, is my all time favourite character from any manga – so you can see how much I adore him. I’m really happy that I decided to reread this manga once more, it definitely improved my March! I would definitely recommend you to check this manga out!
Black Cat summary:
Train Heartnet is an amicable bounty hunter—known as a “Sweeper”—with a talent for sharpshooting. Working alongside his cool-headed partner Sven Vollfied, they hunt down wanted criminals. Unfortunately, however, despite their efforts, the dynamic duo always seems to be short on money, which forces them to accept a job from the beautiful Rinslet Walker, a sly thief for hire, and a mysterious girl named Eve.
However, the motley crew soon discovers a terrible plot to revolutionize the world, and the mastermind is someone Train knows and loathes with a passion. As the plan is set into motion, it is soon made clear that behind the carefree sharpshooter’s smiling face lies a tragic past and an insatiable desire for revenge.
Or rather the only blog post of March.
(Well, I did post my February Wrap Up as well but I don’t link those in other wrap ups.) I do love my Favourite Harry Potter Quotes post, so definitely check it out if you haven’t yet!!
