A (relatively) Small Book Haul!

Book Haul

This is my rather small book haul! Compared to my last one that is…But considering that my last one consisted of 21 BOOKS it wasn’t that hard to make this one smaller.

These are the books that I bought/received since my last book haul and considering that that one was posted in October I haven’t gone crazy with buying new books! I’m really proud of myself for that, considering I’m on a book buying ban. (Sort of, I have to read 5 books before I get to buy 1 new one.)

I did also get Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling and illustrated by Jim Kay, but that book is back at my parents house in my home town (which is in a different country), so I can’t show it of in this haul. That book is simply gorgeous and I would definitely recommend picking it up! Or at least looking at the illustrations if you don’t have the money. I can’t wait for The Prisoner of Azkaban to be released in that edition as well!

Onto the books I can actually show you!

  • 20180415_163440A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab, the collectors edition.
  • The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo.

Two books by two of my all time favourite authors. I’m beyond happy to have these two in my possession!

When I found out that there was going to be a collectors edition of A Darker Shade of Magic I knew that I had to get it. This book is simply gorgeous and I ADORE all the extra content we got in it!

I will read anything that Leigh Bardugo writes. The Language of Thorns sounds especially exiting as it combines three of my favourite things: the Grisha world, fairy tales and illustrations. And yes, this is a naked hardback and I simply love the way it looks!

  • 20180415_163531To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Cristo
  • Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire

Next up we have two books that I have been hearing amazing things about.

Every Heart a Doorway is a book that I have wanted to read for ages, ever since I hear that it has an asexual character. (I’m asexual as well and I have never seen my sexuality represented.) The whole concept of this book sounds fascinating as well! I’m currently reading and LOVING this book, it’s seriously amazing. And yes, I will be writing a review for it so look forward to that!

Lately I have been hearing so many amazing things about To Kill A Kingdom. After reading the reviews of some people whose opinion I trust I knew that I had to get my hands on it. I’m especially exited as I have never read any books about sirens. Hopefully I will be able to get to this one rather soon!

  • 20180415_163716Warcross by Marie Lu
  • City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

I have previously read the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu and adored it. For some reason I have never picked up any of her other books, until now that is. Warcross just sounds like a book that I will completely adore! I plan on reading it closer to the release date of the second book, as I’m terrible with waiting for sequels.

I FINALLY found a copy of City of Glass. Let me tell you, it was a journey. I have been looking for a copy of it for months now and never found it. The bookstores I went to always had the first two and the last two books in the series. In the end I had to order the book from BookDepository (though it did come with the wrong cover, but by this point I really don’t care). Now I can finally continue my journey of reading The Mortal Instruments.

  • 20180415_163733Shadowblack by Sebastian de Castell
  • Pet Sematary by Stephen King

And the last two books for this haul were both gifts. One from my parents and the other from my best friend.

Shadowblack I got from my parents. This is the sequel to Spellslinger, which I own but haven’t read yet. (I actually showed it in my last book haul.) This series sounds very interesting and I’m looking forward to reading those two books! Plus the cover is gorgeous as well, I adore the design.

The second book, Pet Sematary, I got from my best friend as a gift. It was actually a Christmas present and I’m beyond thrilled to finally own this book. I have wanted to read it for ages, plus it’s been a while since I have read a Stephen King book – I should definitely change that soon! And if you are wondering about the language, it’s in Croatian.

That are all the books that I have for today!

Have you read any of these books? Do you want to? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you very much for reading and I hope that you have a wonderful day!

  1. Lots of great books in this haul! I admire how you were able to control yourself with a book buying ban. I don’t have as much self control as you do XD
I can’t wait to see what you think of Warcross! I thought it was fun, fast, and exciting. I’ve never read Ready Player One, but looking at the blurb, Warcross is sort of similar.

    1. Yeah, I got some really great books this time around. Hahaha, it’s really hard at times but I try not to go into bookstores when I don’t have to. (Even if it breaks my heart, I need to save the money.)
