TV Talk is a feature on my blog where I talk about a tv show or one of its seasons. I don’t consider these posts to be reviews, they are just a place where I can talk about the tv shows that I watch.
Disclaimer: This post is SPOILER FREE.
So this is a new feature that I have decided to do on my blog! 😀 I’m super exited to get to talk about tv shows, which isn’t something that I do on my blog. But I thought, as I already talk about book and anime, two other things that I love consuming, I might as well talk about tv shows. That’s how the idea for this feature was born.
(I might call it feature, but it’s more of a segment, or something.)
Also, I have no schedule for these posts. I will post them whenever I feel like it, or rather when I have a tv show that I really want to talk about.
Now, lets get into the actual post!

Criminal Minds is my all time favourite tv show. I started watching it when I was in high school, as a very good friend of mine recommended it to me. She knew I loved crime and mystery shows and for some reason I never watched Criminal Minds before that. I quickly became obsessed with the show and watched all the episodes that were out at the time in the span of a month or two. And that’s A LOT, since there were already 6 seasons out and the 7th one was airing.
(If I remember it correctly.)
Since I have discovered this show all those years ago I have re-watched all of it multiple times.
(Some episodes and seasons more than others.) For some reason this show brings me comfort and whenever I need something to pick me up, I gravitate towards this show. That might be weird, as this show is basically about murder and other crimes, but it is what it is.
Then for some reason I fell of the wagon when it came to this show and I stopped watching it for a while.
(My mental health wasn’t the best then, which might explain why I stopped.) I obviously also fell behind on the episodes as well. This year I decided that I wanted to get back into Criminal Minds, so I did. Basically I watched the second half of the 12th season and season 13. Now I’m officially all caught up with it and I’m eagerly awaiting the next season to start airing!
Most of the episodes are centred around a single crime or criminal. I mean that the story gets wrapped up in that one episode.
(I had no idea how to phrase that better.) Though there are some that span over multiple episodes as well, most commonly it’s a double episode story. Of course there are underlining plots concerning the main characters within this show throughout each season. One of the genres is drama after all.
I find within each episode something I enjoy. The cases that they work on throughout the show are both interesting and creepy at times. The whole aspect of them analysing behaviour of criminals is something that I find fascinating. I’m interested in psychology and seeing them use it to find criminals is very interesting. Plus it’s always interesting trying to guess who the culprit is and how/why they committed the crime.
Also this show has trigger warnings for ANYTHING that you can imagine. If there is something that triggers you, this show has most likely covered it. I think you can find which specific triggers apply to which episode online
(just google it), if you still want to watch it. Though I definitely recommend you to be cautious!
The characters are by far my favourite part of this show. I completely adore all of them! Or to be more specific I adore all the main characters, or the agents of the team that we follow throughout the whole show. They are all so charming and lovely in their own ways! Even some characters that I was unsure about in the beginning I ended up loving. There is just something about every single one of them that I adore. They are all such great friends as well and I LOVE their dynamic and interactions.
Throughout the story we get A TON of character development for every single main character
(obviously since there are 13 seasons of the show already, if we didn’t it would be weird). The story arcs that these characters go through are so intense. All of them have survived so much and it’s fascinating (and heartbreaking) watching them go through everything.
As I already mentioned, I adore all the characters within this show. But I have some favourites as well. They are: Spencer Reid, Emily Prentiss, Penelope Garcia and Derek Morgan. I decided to limit myself to four, as I could keep going which I noticed when I was writing this down.
(I seriously wanted to put more than four!)
I love everything about this show. It is, after all, my all time favourite tv show. I would highly recommend this show to everyone who enjoys crime/mystery! And everyone who is looking for amazing characters and friendships. Though be aware of the trigger warnings that I have already mentioned.
So, this post was rather vague. Mostly because I wanted to talk about the whole show in general and not one specific season and I wanted to keep it spoiler free. Future posts of this kind will be centred about one season, so I will be able to go into more detail and stuff like that. Still, I hope you enjoyed reading my ramblings on Criminal Minds! 😀
