September 2019 || Wrap Up

Monthly Wrap Up Green

I’m a bit late with this wrap up (though not that much). I actually took a break from social media, and with that my blog, for the past week or so. I was just in a weird headspace and social media wasn’t helping that. Which is why I decided to take a break! 🙂 I’m feeling great now and I’m very motivated to get back into blogging. Now let’s actually talk about my month of September!

In my last wrap up I mentioned that my next door neighbour called me a witch and I also explained things regarding that. If you want to know more about that check out my August Wrap Up. Anyway, the reason that I’m mentioning this is because she has moved out! Or rather she was evicted, because of some of the things that she did. Though I also don’t know all the details about that. I’m just happy that she is gone now and I don’t have to worry about her!

Another good thing that happened in September was the fact that I got into the Seminar that I wanted! It was my first choice and I wasn’t sure that I was going to get into it, but luckily I did. I was so overjoyed when I found out! The first meeting for it is actually tomorrow, so I’m very much looking forward to that. My dad came to visit me in September as well and we spent a whole day together. It was amazing, as it always is! I love spending time with my dad. ❤

September was a bit of a weird month for my mental health. I had mainly amazing days, but I also had some horrible ones (and those stick out the most). Speaking of my mental health, towards the end of the month (and the beginning of this month) I reflected on some things about myself and my life. Some of the conclusions I came to have been positive, some negative (which is normal when reevaluating things). After doing that I’m feeling a lot better than I have in a long time! 😀

Wrap Up

Gentlemen BastardsRed Seas Under Red Skies (Gentleman Bastard #2) by Scott Lynch

4.5 out of 5 stars

After rereading The Lies of Locke Lamora in April I finally got around to reading Red Seas Under Red Skies. I can’t believe it’s taken me that long to get around to this book, especially since I ended up loving it!

As you can see by my rating I did have some problems with it, but overall I completely adored this book! I expected that to be the case, since the first book is one of my all time favourites. I loved following Locke and Jean on a new adventure and I can’t wait to pick up the third book in this series. I just need to know what is going to happen next!

I plan on writing a full review for this book soon, so if you are interested in more of my thoughts look forward to that.

In September I decided to start a full reread of the Harry Potter series. I realised that it has been years since I reread the series in its entirety. I did reread a random book here and there throughout the years, but I haven’t done a full reread of this series in over 3 years. So it was high time for me to change that!

In September I ended up rereading the first four books in the series. Obviously I gave all of them 5 out of 5 stars, not that that is a surprise to anyone. Out of these four my favourite is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, though that is a hard choice to make as I adore all the books in the series. It was simply wonderful to be able to experience this story again, I have seriously missed this world and its characters. I’m so happy that I decided to reread this series! 😀

I don’t know when I’ll pick up the fifth book (as I don’t have an end date for my reread), but hopefully it’s going to be sooner rather than later!

  1. Yay! Glad you loved Red Seas! People criticize it a lot for being rambly and too long, but I thought it was a lot of fun. And really, I’ll love any book that has Locke and Jean in it.

Oooh it’s been AGES since I last read through HP. I never re-read it as an adult, and I’m kind of curious to see how it holds up. Happy to hear you’re having a good time with it! 🙂

And all the congrats on getting into the Seminar!! ❤

    1. Well, it is a bit rambly and long but that didn’t bother me at all! 😀 I just love Locke and Jean sooo much that I would read any book with them in it, no matter how long it is. The Gentleman Bastards series is very fun and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I definitely recommend rereading the Harry Potter books, as I’m having a lot of fun with them! 🙂 It’s just really fun being back in that magical world.
      Thank you so much! ❤

  2. It’s always good to take a break from social media. It’s a chance to recharge the batteries and no worry about stats and what to post. The situation with your neighbour sounded really weird and stressful so I’m glad you’ve been able to get away from it. I hope you have a wonderful October.
